Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School 22 D

International Year of Millets

Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School Chandigarh 22 D has organized a display board activity under the Yuva Tourism Club. The main objective of this activity was to enhance the students knowledge about the different millets grown across India and to promote their use. Students created display boards for their selected millets. The students used materials such as real millets, pictures and displayed the health benefits, farming conditions and percentage of minerals and proteins found in different millets. The entire event was organized efficiently by the club in-charge Mrs.Trisha Kapila and the students enthusiasm was evident in the creative display boards they presented. The activity concluded with a discussion on the importance of millets in each class (9th and 10th)

Heritage Walk and Cleanliness drive

Along the way, a cleanliness drive was conducted, highlighting the importance of maintaining a clean environment. Additionally, an eye-catching banner on the theme "Beat Plastic Pollution" was displayed, emphasizing the need to combat this pressing environmental issue. The event successfully blended cultural exploration with environmental consciousness.

Satluj Public School conducted an educational trip for potential Yuva members, taking them to Sukhna Lake and Cactus Garden. The students received valuable information about migratory birds and their significance. At Sukhna Lake, they witnessed the beauty of various bird species and learned about their migration patterns. The visit to the Cactus Garden provided insights into desert plants and their adaptations. During the trip, the students actively engaged with visitors, advocating for respect towards nature and the need for conservation efforts. This educational excursion aimed to instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment and fostered a deeper appreciation for the natural world among the students.

Seminar & Speech competition on National Tourism Day.

The National Tourism Day was celebrated in Jammu & Kashmir by YUVA Tourism Club of Institute of Hotel Management, Srinagar. There was a speech competition held about the hidden beauty of Jammu and Kashmir by YTC students, which was attended by the students of IHM, respected principal Shabir Ahmed sir and Senior faculty Tariq Sir. Respected principal sir talked about the importance of tourism promotion and the multiplier effects of tourism on GDP and economic growth. Then everyone took a “Travel for Life” pledge for responsible tourism.

Education Tour to Tourist Places of Jaipur

Celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava and to promote Dekho Apna Desh initiative, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India (Northern Region - Jaipur) organized an Education Tour to the important tourist places of Jaipur viz. Amer Fort, Nahargarh Biological Park, Hawa Mahal and Nahargarh Fort for 40 members of the Yuva Tourism Club of Subodh Public School, Jaipur on 25th May 2023. The students explored the majestic beauty of tourism products of Jaipur & Rajasthan and learnt about the rich heritage, culture and history of Jaipur & Rajasthan as well. The students found the tour quite informative and knowledgeable. Along with this, the students were motivated to keep the monuments clean and spread the message of conservation of heritage sites. Educational Trip to Forest research Institute Dehradun, Uttarakhand

The Army Public School organized an educational trip to the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, for its students. The trip was aimed at providing students with an overview of the history and mission of the Forest Research Institute, introducing them to the different types of forests and the plants and animals that live in them, teach them about the importance of forest conservation, and give them hands-on experience with forest management and conservation.

Educational Trip

An educational trip was planned for all the sections of class VIII and IX to enhance their knowledge of the historical sites of Dehradun. The trip was organized by the school and took place on 25th May 2023. The students visited the following places: Subir Raha Oil Museum Tel Bhawan, ONGC: This museum is located in the heart of Dehradun and is dedicated to the history of oil exploration and production in India. The museum has a collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents that tell the story of how oil was discovered and developed in India.
