Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Bageshwar (Uttarakhand), Uttarakhand organized a plantation drive by the students of the school. The drive was organized to create awareness about the importance of trees and to encourage the students to take care of the environment. The plantation drive was a success. The students were enthusiastic about planting trees and they took great care in planting them. The trees will help to improve the environment and will also provide a green and healthy environment for the students. The plantation drive was a part of the school's environmental awareness program. Ministry of Tourism Northern Region, Government of India organised a Workshop of Yuva Tourism Club at Amity University, Greater Noida on May 1, 2023. The Ministry of Tourism helped the students to form a Yuva Tourism Club in their university. The Regional Director (North) being the guest speaker and gave presentation on the Yuva Tourism Club, as well as the importance and significance of tourism. The workshop was attended by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan (Founder President), Dr. Atul Chauhan (Chancellor), and Dr. Ajay Rana (Director General) along with 50 students of Amity University. It's great to see that such esteemed personalities were present to encourage the students to take an interest in tourism and be a part of the Yuva Tourism Club. The students were able to learn about the various benefits of tourism and how they can contribute towards promoting it through the Yuva Tourism Club. This will not only enhance their knowledge but also encourage them to explore various opportunities in the tourism industry.

The Kargil Vijay Diwas Run, organized by Real Sports India (Sportive) in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India (North), held on July 16, 2023, served multiple purposes in promoting tourism and showcasing the region's beauty and heritage. Firstly, the run aimed to pay tribute to the national heroes and martyrs of the Kargil War. It provided an opportunity for participants to honor and remember the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the conflict. By commemorating these heroes, the event added emotional value, attracting visitors who wished to pay their respects and learn about the history and sacrifices made by the armed forces. Secondly, the run aimed to promote marathon tourism in Drass and Kargil. The event highlighted the scenic beauty, cultural richness, and historical significance of these regions. Participants and spectators not only experienced the thrill of the marathon but also witnessed the natural landscapes, local traditions, and architectural heritage along the race route. By showcasing these aspects, the event aimed to attract visitors who were interested in exploring offbeat destinations and engaging in adventure sports. Additionally, the run aimed to promote the Yuva Tourism Club, Border Tourism, and Vibrant Village scheme of the Ministry of Tourism in Ladakh. By organizing the event in Kargil and Drass, the initiative aimed to support these tourism-related schemes and encourage visitors to explore the region. Furthermore, the event aligned with the "Dekho Apna Desh" (See Your Own Country) initiative promoted by the Ministry of Tourism. By organizing the run in Kargil and Drass, the event showcased the lesser-known regions of Ladakh, Jammu, and Kashmir, encouraging domestic and international tourists to explore these hidden gems. Participants and attendees had the opportunity to witness the unique culture, traditions, and historical landmarks of the region, fostering interest in sustainable and responsible tourism. Overall, the Kargil Vijay Diwas Run successfully merged the commemoration of national heroes with the promotion of tourism in the Drass and Kargil regions. The event showcased the natural beauty, cultural heritage, and historical significance of the area while also encouraging healthy lifestyles, sustainable tourism, and women's empowerment. Regional Director (North) Ministry of Tourism, Government of India had a meeting on 06.07.2023 in Jawahar Lal Nehru University regarding the formation of Yuva Tourism Club at JNU. RD (North) gave a detailed presentation regarding formation of the Yuva Tourism Club, as well as the importance and significance of tourism sector. The meeting was attended by Prof. Satish Chandra Garkoti, Rector-1/Joint Vice Chancellor, Registrar (Culture), and Prof Rajiv Sijaria, Dean, Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship at JNU. JNU administration has agreed for YTC activity to be organized soon so that members of YTC may be able to learn about the various benefits of tourism and how they can contribute towards promoting it through the Yuva Tourism Club. This will not only enhance their knowledge but also to encourage spiritual, economic, cultural, social aspects to explore various opportunities in the tourism industry. At the end of the event, the Regional Director (North) appreciated to the Senior faculty and administrative officers of JNU for taking initiative towards formation of YTC. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is the foremost University in India, and a world-renowned center for teaching and research.

Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India (Northern Region) Inspires Youth with Yuva Tourism Club Seminar New Delhi, 25th July 2023 - The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India (North) organized a Seminar on Yuva Tourism Club at Hotel Samrat, New Delhi, with the aim of establishing Yuva Tourism Clubs in educational institutions across the nation. The event took place on 25th July 2023 and witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 150 attendees, including professors, teachers, and students representing Universities, Colleges, and Schools from various regions. The vision behind the formation of Yuva Tourism Clubs is to foster and cultivate young ambassadors of Indian tourism, instilling in them an appreciation for our country's rich cultural heritage, and igniting a passion for exploring the vast tourism possibilities within India. These young ambassadors will play a pivotal role in promoting tourism across the nation, acting as catalysts for the growth of the tourism industry. Ms. Manisha Saxena, IAS, Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, graced the occasion along with distinguished dignitaries, including Sh. MR Synrem, Joint Secretary Tourism, Sh. R K Suman, Regional Director (North) MOT, IHM Principal, Dean JNU, and a Professor from IITTM. Their presence and insights have been instrumental in guiding the attendees about the objectives and benefits of being part of the Yuva Tourism Club. The seminar emphasized the significance of the Yuva Tourism Clubs and outlined the various activities they will be undertaking. It also showcased the support and assistance that the Ministry of Tourism will provide to these clubs to ensure their successful implementation. The clubs aim to be more than just a platform for tourism exploration; they are expected to foster the development of essential soft skills, including teamwork, management, and leadership abilities. Additionally, the clubs will promote responsible tourism practices and encourage sustainable tourism initiatives to ensure a positive impact on both the environment and the communities involved. Currently almost 4000 plus Yuva Tourism Clubs have been established in Delhi NCR and 8000 plus Yuva Tourism Clubs have been established in the North Region under this programme. The Ministry of Tourism envisions the Yuva Tourism Clubs as a gateway for young minds to connect with the vast landscape of tourism in India. Through these clubs, the government aspires to nurture a new generation of responsible travelers who understand and value the diverse cultural heritage and breathtaking beauty of our nation. The event concluded with a sense of enthusiasm and commitment from the attendees to actively participate in the formation of Yuva Tourism Clubs in their respective institutions, making a collective effort towards India's tourism growth and development.

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India (North Region) organized an award distribution ceremony for the winners of ‘Tourism in India’ Quiz on 27/07/2023 at Hotel Park, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The prize and certificates to 143 winners were presented by Shri Shripad Naik, Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Joint Secretary MoT, GOI. The purpose of the event was to encourage students to learn about various aspects of tourism and promote a sense of pride and accomplishment in their achievements. The quiz competition aimed to test their knowledge about different tourist destinations, cultural heritage, and sustainable tourism practices. The event commenced with an opening speech by Shri R.K. Suman, Regional Director (North) MoT, GOI, highlighting the importance of tourism in the country's economic development and how it can contribute to local communities.
