The Kargil Vijay Diwas Run, organized by Real Sports India (Sportive) in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India (North), held on July 16, 2023, served multiple purposes in promoting tourism and showcasing the region's beauty and heritage. Firstly, the run aimed to pay tribute to the national heroes and martyrs of the Kargil War. Additionally, the run aimed to promote the Yuva Tourism Club, Border Tourism, and Vibrant Village scheme of the Ministry of Tourism in Ladakh. Furthermore, the event aligned with the "Dekho Apna Desh" (See Your Own Country) initiative promoted by the Ministry of Tourism. By organizing the run in Kargil and Drass, the event showcased the lesser-known regions of Ladakh, Jammu, and Kashmir, encouraging domestic and international tourists to explore these hidden gems. Participants and attendees had the opportunity to witness the unique culture, traditions, and historical landmarks of the region, fostering interest in sustainable and responsible tourism.
