Tree Plantation Program

Yuva Tourism Club members of Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition, Kufri, Shimla organised Tree plantation program near waterbodies of wildlife sanctuary Kufri, Shimla. Total 40 students of Yuva Tourism club, Environment Club and staff members collaborating with the Forest department of Himachal Pradesh successfully planted trees together creating an awareness for preserving the nature and making a positive impact.

The event commenced with a warm welcome to all attendees, introducing the Yuva Tourism Club - an initiative aimed at nurturing the passion for tourism among the students. The inauguration was followed by an engaging and informative video that captured the essence of travel and its impact on individuals and communities. One of the highlights of the occasion was the Travel for Life Pledge, where all members of the Yuva Tourism Club, along with the esteemed staff, pledged to promote sustainable tourism practices. As the Yuva Tourism Club sets out on its journey, the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering, and Nutrition, Kufri Shimla, eagerly anticipates the incredible contributions these Yuva Tourism Club members will make to the world of travel.

VAN MAHOTSAV

"Save the trees, save the earth, We are the guardians of Nature's Birth" the slogan found its voice in the premises of Hansraj Model School. To celebrate Van Mahotsav, an afforestation drive was launched by Hansraj Model School, Punjabi Bagh in a bid to retain the vanishing forest covers of the country. Under the esteemed guidance of Madam Principal, Heemal Handoo Bhat, the students organized a plantation drive in the school premises. The rationale of this activity was to raise awareness about the importance of trees. Students brought saplings from home and planted them on school premises to bring back the lost glory of nature. The school gardener interacted with the students and guided them about the correct way to plant a sapling. With posters, decorative headgear and slogans the students spread awareness among the community about the importance of trees. Also, The students were taken for a nature walk and asked to identify the various medicinal and ornamental plants on the school premises and explain their uses. students actively took part in all the activities and contributed their best to bring back life to nature.

Commemorate 50 Yrs of Project Tiger.

Hansraj Model School observed International Tiger Day to commemorate 50 years of Project Tiger on the premises and to educate students about the endangered magnificent cat. The Principal, Ms. Heemal Handoo Bhat, launched the #RunForTigers campaign, taking cognizance of the seriousness of the issue. Students decked out as animals sparkled with roaring laughter and participated in different events. The students presented an excellent rendition of the Tiger Anthem. They reflected upon the plight of tigers and how the tiger, as our nation's pride has to be safeguarded.

On 2st August 2023, N C Jindal Public School, Punjabi Bagh West ,New Delhi-110026 organized a plantation program at its premises. Over 35 students from various classes actively participated in the program. he plantation drive aimed to cultivate a sense of responsibility towards the environment among the students, enabling them to understand the significance of sustainable development. Additionally, it provided them with an opportunity to contribute to the greenery of their school and the overall well-being of their city. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who displayed a strong understanding of the importance of the plantation drive. The school administration commended their efforts and encouraged them to further their conservation initiatives beyond the program. In conclusion, the plantation program organized by N C Jindal Public School successfully instilled an environmental consciousness among the students.
