On the occasion of National Space Day 2024, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, through its field office in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, organized an educational visit on 21st August 2024, for 60 students from Yuva Tourism Clubs of Kendriya Vidyalaya Birpur, Kendriya Vidyalaya No1 HBK and Graphic Era Global School to the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) in Dehradun. This visit was designed to inspire young minds by providing them with an in-depth understanding of India's advancements in space technology and remote sensing. The highlight of the visit was an insightful session led by Dr. Ashutosh Bhardwaj, Head of the Research Project Monitoring Department and a distinguished scientist at IIRS. Dr. Bhardwaj shared his expertise with the students, focusing on the critical role of remote sensing in various fields such as environmental monitoring, disaster management, and resource management. His session was both educational and inspiring, leaving the students with a deeper appreciation for the science behind space exploration and its practical applications. Following the session, the students were taken on a guided tour of the IIRS exhibition, where they had the opportunity to view and learn about various satellite models, engines, heat shields, solar panels, and other essential components of space technology. To further enrich their experience, the students were shown several videos that offered a comprehensive overview of ISRO's various centres and the wide array of services it provides. This educational visit was a significant event for the Yuva Tourism Clubs students, sparking their curiosity and encouraging them to explore the exciting possibilities within the fields of space science and technology. The visit was not only an educational experience but also a source of inspiration for the young participants, marking National Space Day 2024 as a memorable and impactful occasion.

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, through its Dehradun field office, recently organized a comprehensive seminar and award ceremony at Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC, Dehradun. The event aimed to promote responsible tourism practices among young students and recognized their artistic talent through a Heritage Painting Competition. Dr. Swarna Gupta and Shri Amit Singh from the Ministry's Dehradun field office represented the organization. The seminar was attended by the school's principal, vice principal, faculty members, and over 80 students. Seminar Highlights: Dr. Swarna Gupta conducted an engaging seminar on the tourism industry. She covered essential topics such as the motivations behind travel, the structure of travel businesses, career opportunities, and sustainable tourism practices. The seminar emphasized the importance of reducing plastic consumption, supporting local communities, respecting cultural norms, and minimizing carbon footprints. Ms. Anju Singh assured the audience that the school would integrate the sustainable practices discussed in the seminar into their assemblies. She committed to educating all students on the importance of sustainability, fostering a sense of responsibility from a young age. Award Ceremony: The event also honored the top three winners of the Heritage Painting Competition. The Ministry recognized their artistic talent and encouraged them to continue exploring the rich cultural heritage of India. Yuva Tourism Clubs: The establishment of Yuva Tourism Clubs, in conjunction with the seminar, marks a significant step towards promoting responsible tourism among the younger generation. These clubs will play a vital role in educating students about sustainable practices and fostering a sense of environmental stewardship. Overall, the seminar and award ceremony were a resounding success. On the occasion of National Space Day – 2024, India Tourism Jaipur organized a Speech Competition at Janardan Rai Nagar University, Udaipur on 23rd August, 2024. Around 30-35 Yuva Tourism Club members participated in the competition. The participants shared their views about achievements of ISRO in space missions, Indian Space Missions etc. during participation in the aforesaid competition. Prizes will be awarded to the winners by India Tourism Jaipur.

The Yuva Tourism Club of PM SHRI School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Tarikh, Almora, Uttarakhand, organized a successful plantation drive on 14th August 2024. The event was conducted under the leadership of Mr. Manjeet Singh, TGT Punjabi, and in the presence of Mr. D.S. Rawat, Principal. Over 80-100 students from the school participated in the drive. The enthusiastic students planted 30 saplings on the school campus. This initiative was a significant step towards environmental conservation and promoting a greener future.

The Yuva Tourism Club of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya took a significant step towards environmental conservation by organizing a tree plantation drive under the Initiative of "Ek Ped Maa ke Naam" near the revered Laxman Siddh Temple in Harrawala. The event, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the Tourism Youth Club, faculty, and around 30 students from the Department of Tourism Management, saw the successful planting of approximately 50 saplings. Dr. Chinmay Pandya, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Tourism Department for undertaking this commendable initiative. Inspired by the success of the drive, the department has set an ambitious target of planting an additional 200 trees by December. In tandem with the tree plantation drive, the Tourism Department also organized a spirited rally and a thought-provoking street play as part of a comprehensive awareness campaign. These efforts aimed to sensitize the community about the importance of environmental protection and inspire active participation in green initiatives.

The event, exclusively for members of the Yuva Tourism Club, witnessed an overwhelming participation, showcasing the students’ deep-rooted connection to their state. The competition aimed to encourage students to delve into the historical, cultural, and natural treasures of Uttarakhand. Participants were tasked with exploring various facets of the state’s heritage, including its glorious past, diverse traditions, breathtaking landscapes, and the indomitable spirit of its people.

Heritage walk was organized by the Yuva Tourism Club of St. Thomas’ School, Shimla. More than 40 club members participated in this heritage walk under the chairmanship of Yuva Tourism Club coordinator teachers Surender Sharma and Tarun Sharma. The purpose of this walk was to give information about the heritage buildings and routes of Shimla to the club members. The members of the Yuva Tourism Club started the heritage walk from the Army Command Artrac Shimla and concluded it at the Army Heritage Museum Annadale. The teachers of the Yuva Tourism Club gave detailed information about various heritage buildings and places of Shimla to the club members, after which the club members enjoyed the heritage walk from Victory Tunnel to the Army Heritage Museum Annadale via Kaithu Marg. During the heritage walk, the club members tried to give the message of environmental protection and the ill effects of plastic by picking up plastic bottles and also took an oath to protect natural resources. It was also decided to organize tourism related activities in future. The members also visited various Army related weapons, various Army uniforms, medals, gallantry activities of Indian Army displayed at the Army Museum, Annadale Complex. The school's principal Vidhupriya Chakrvarty gave the message to the members of the Yuva tourism club to participate enthusiastically in the club's activities. And also called upon them to be aware about environmental protection and the ill effects of plastic. In this Yuva tourism club, 40 members including student leaders Aarushi Thakur, Lakshya Verma, Rajkumar, Atika, Nishtha Thakur, Ashutosh, Amit, Priya etc were also present.

India Tourism Jaipur organized a seminar on the topic “Conservation of National Heritage in India” at Jaipur National University, Jaipur on 22nd July, 2024. The objective of organizing the seminar was to generate awareness regarding conservation of our heritage monuments & sites and to create a sense of respect towards our cultural heritage among students and local citizens. Vice Chancellor Pro. R.L. Raina, Director of School of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Dr. Ajeet Kumar Singh of Jaipur National University sensitized the students about the topic. Around 150 students participated in the aforesaid seminar. Travel for Life pledge was also taken by all the participants. Certificate of participation was given to all the participants.

India Tourism Jaipur organized Heritage Walk from Krishna Satsang Girls College to Deewan Ji Ki Nasiyan at Sikar on 30th July, 2024. Around 130 students of Konark College of Hotel Management and Krishna Satsang Girls College participated in the aforesaid walk. The students visited different heritage havelies, Jain temples during the walk. The guide explained the heritage importance of these places to the students. During the walk, officials from Rajasthan Tourism department, Shri Mahaveer Purohit (having deep knowledge of history), hoteliers, travel agents were also present during the heritage walk.
