We had a fascinating session with Mr. Rikhi Kshathriya, who resides in Bhilai. He has developed a profound passion for collecting musical instruments used by various tribal groups in Chattisgarh. Mr. Kshathriya has amassed a diverse collection of traditional musical instruments. During our session, he not only showcased and played these instruments but also shared captivating stories associated with each. One particular instrument caught our attention – its sound resembling that of a roaring tiger. According to Rikhi, acquiring these musical instruments from tribes is a challenging endeavor. Many tribes believe that these instruments not only enhance crop yields but also help in warding off wild beasts. Consequently, most tribals are reluctant to part with their instruments, especially to strangers. Rikhi has invested considerable effort in employing persuasion and communication skills to assure the tribals about his sincere objective to preserve and conserve their artistic heritage.
