Sensitization

Students of the YUVA club visited the Qutub Shahi tombs and had an enriching experience to witness the marvels of the Persian, Pathan and Hindu architectural styles that makes use of grey granite and learnt about the history behind it. The Tombs form the most reliable evidence of the Qutub Shahi dynasty and their architectural traditions. These are exquisite structures where every arch, columns, dome minarets, and galleries were created with finessed and are surrounded by landscape gardens called Ibrahim Bagh. It houses seven tombs dedicated to the former kings of Golconda. The students were very enthusiastic to share their knowledge and experience. They enlightened and interacted with the tourists at the site as responsible members of the YUVA club. Students used the opportunity of the science exhibition held in the school to sensitise visitors about the importance of visiting tourist location and in particular about the Qutub Shahi tombs. The visitors took keen interest in listening to the students and were appreciative of their efforts. Many of the visitors were impressed by the students and their zeal for tourism and assured that they would visit the place at the earliest. Students displayed the various activities done by them like a study of the different architecture styles of temples and mosques, itinerary to visit Hyderabad and preparing a travelogue to name a few. Overall, students of the YUVA club did a commendable job in popularising one of the lesser known place in the heart of the city to the members of the societies who live near the school.

Heritage Walk

The Ministry of Tourism, (Northern Region) field office Chandigarh organised a Heritage Walk in Chandigarh Museum Sector, in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India, Chandigarh Circle, along with Chandigarh Museum. Around 50 Yuva Tourism club students of Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School were taken to all three Museums, The Government Museum and Art Gallery, The Natural History Museum, The Architecture Museum. The students were also engaged in an activity to gain more knowledge about the artifacts in the museum. A brief session was taken by the Deputy Curator Museum Ms.Seema. The students were very enthusiastic to gain more knowledge by visiting one of the museums which has one of the largest collections of Gandharan artifacts in the world. After the session all students took the Travel for LiFE Pledge.

Educational Trip : Giving the students an opportunity broaden the1·r perspective to explore and to learn, the school organ1zed an educational 5-day tour to Vizag-Araku-Borra Caves, in two batches. 131 students of classes X ft XII accompanied by five teachers visited Vizag on a trip from 13th to 17th October, 2023 and 57 students of classes VIII, accompanied by thirteen teachers visited from 16th to 1ott1 October, 2023. It has been an enriching experience for the students. During their 3-day stay in Vizag they enjoyed the scenic beauty of the city that lay \n the lap of nature. They visited Simhachalam to seek the blessings of the presiding diety, Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. This was followed by the inspiring visit to Navy Aircraft Musuem, INS, Kursura Submarine Museum. The school also organized educational tour to Delhi-Jaisalmer-Jaipur-Jodhpur g. day (18th to 25th October,2023) for classes IX ft XI. 105 students were accompanied by Ten teachers for the trip. The students visited historical plac like Rashtrapati Bhavan, Red Fort, Mehrangarh, Mandore Garden which were worthy of a visit. The beauty of the vast mansion in Jaisalmer, the city of forts and deserts, students enjoyed desert saf ari on camel backs exploring the Sand dunes of India and visited the majestic land of Fort, Palaces and desert. They thoroughly enjoyed the grandeu r of the palaces and their trip.

The Ministry Of Tourism, (Northern Region) field office Chandigarh organised an Invited talk Session in collaboration with Dr.Ambedkar Institute of Hotel management on HERITAGE TOURISM, An inaugural introduction session was given by Mr. Raj K Varman, Tourism Assistant Manager, Chandigarh, Ministry of Tourism. The special invited guest Dr. Ajit Kumar gave an informative session for the Yuva Tourism club members on Heritage, Culture and it's preservation. The session was attended by 35 Yuva Tourism club students. There was also an interactive session where students got an opportunity to exchange their ideas and thoughts on perseveration of India’s heritage. After the session all students along with the special invited guest took the Travel for LiFE Pledge.

Heritage Walk

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Field office Chandigarh organised a Heritage Walk in the UNESCO world Heritage site, The Capitol Complex. In collaboration with the Yuva Tourism club members of Shishu Niketan Model Sr. Secondary School, Chandigarh. 45 Yuva Tourism club students participated in the event organised by the field office Chandigarh. The students were given a brief about the history of the Capitol Complex and had a tour of the monuments inside the complex. The Palace of Assembly or Legislative Assembly, Secretariat Building and the High Court plus four monuments, Open Hand Monument, Geometric Hill, Tower of Shadows and the Martyrs Monument were covered during the Heritage walk. Then the students were also taken inside the Punjab Vidhan Sabha to have a view of the same. After the completion of the Heritage walk the Yuva Tourism club students also took the Travel for LiFE pledge.

On December 11, 2023, the Yuva Tourism Club (YTC) of BSBV Science Education Centre in Ghatampur, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, orchestrated a dynamic event featuring a Science Exhibition, Art Exhibition, and a poster-making competition highlighting Monuments. Over 200 students actively participated, showcasing their projects and elucidating their work. A total of 18 students were honored with prizes, fostering motivation among the participants. Additionally, a workshop focusing on Tourism and Heritage was organized, where Sh. Sanjay Sachan shared valuable insights with YTC students. The program concluded with a Q&A session, enriching the overall experience.
