Tourism and the Importance of pursuing careers

Indiatourism Delhi organized a workshop for the Yuva Tourism Club (YTC) of the State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM), Dharamshala. The session was addressed by Sh. Sanjay Kumar, Tourist Information Officer (TIO) IT Delhi, and Sh. Rajan Sharma, Principal In-Charge, SIHM. They spoke to the YTC students about the vast job opportunities available in the field of tourism and the importance of pursuing careers in this growing sector. To further inspire and engage the students, a ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ brochure-making competition was organised. Indiatourism Delhi awarded prizes and certificates to the winners, encouraging creativity and awareness about domestic tourism. Brochures and other promotional materials were distributed to YTC members to help promote tourism-related initiatives. This initiative aimed to foster interest in the tourism sector and motivate students to become ambassadors of India’s rich cultural heritage and travel experiences.

An engaging interactive quiz game was organized at IHM Raipur to promote awareness about the culture, geography, and heritage of Northeast India. The event provided a unique platform for students to learn about the region in an enjoyable and competitive environment. The quiz featured multiple rounds covering various aspects of Northeast India. Questions on festivals like Bihu, Hornbill, and Solung allowed participants to explore the rich cultural traditions of the region. The geographical round brought attention to iconic landmarks such as Kaziranga National Park, Tawang Monastery, and Loktak Lake, as well as unique features like the living root bridges of Meghalaya and the mighty Brahmaputra River. A miscellaneous round tested students on topics such as local cuisines, languages, and significant historical events, offering a comprehensive insight into the Northeast’s diversity.

Travel Story Telling

The Travel Storytelling Session on Northeast India, organized at IHM Raipur under the Yuva Tourism Club initiative, aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the region’s unique culture, geography, and tourism potential. The session emphasized the eight northeastern states collectively known as the "Seven Sisters and One Brother"—Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, and Sikkim. It shed light on the region’s stunning landscapes, vibrant traditions, and diverse ethnic groups. Through interactive storytelling and visual presentations, the session provided an immersive experience that combined cultural insights with geographical awareness

Cultural Exchange Program YTC Activity for November

As part of the Students Cultural Exchange Program organized under the Yuva Tourism Club initiative, three groups of students from IHM Raipur showcased the cultural heritage and tourism potential of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland. The event aimed to promote awareness of Northeast India’s diversity and traditions. The Arunachal Pradesh group focused on the state’s tribal culture and scenic landscapes. They showcased major festivals like Losar and Solung, and bamboo crafts. Tourist highlights reflecting Arunachal’s appeal to nature and culture enthusiasts. The Nagaland group celebrated the state’s vibrant tribal culture with a war songs, symbolizing unity and strength. They displayed traditional crafts such as Naga shawls and beadwork and highlighted key attractions like the Hornbill Festival, Dzükou Valley, and Kohima War Cemetery, showcasing Nagaland’s growing popularity in cultural and adventure tourism.
