Yuva Tourism Club of Govt. Degree College for Women, Srikakulam celebrated World Environment Day 2023 by organizing a Seminar addressed by the Principal on the Importance and Protection of Environment with respect to the natural tourist destinations. After the Seminar a Rally was conducted to create Awareness among the Public.

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2023, plantation program done by Yuva Tourism Club along with the AP Skill Development, Nehru Yuva Kendra and Rotary Club of Srikakulam. In the presence of District Tourism Officer and Vice President of Rotary Club of Srikakulam, 50 saplings were planted at NYK campus & Skill development center and gave them for adoption to the youths. Awareness created on global warming and youth were motivated practice REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE resources.

Yuva Tourism Club members of KL University, Guntur during their Social Internship programme visited Vema Varam Village of Prakasam district and conducted Save Soil awareness campaign during the occasion of World Environment Day. The local farmers were told about the degradation of the soil quality in the present years, negative impacts caused to the soil by using Pesticides & Chemical Fertilizers. Farmers were told to plant more number of trees around their farmlands and gradually shift towards organic farming.

The Yuva Tourism Club students of Government College of Arts & Science, Kadmat island were a part of the hospitality team that welcomed national and international delegates at Bangaram Island Resort during the recently concluded G20 summit in Lakshadweep from May 01 to May 03, 2023. 23 students were trained in various departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Production and F&B Service during the internship opportunity facilitated by Department of Tourism Development, Lakshadweep Administration. On the concluding day, the Director, Department of Tourism Development Lakshadweep addressed the students on importance of skill enhancement and career opportunities in hospitality industry. As a token of appreciation, adventure activities were also organized for Yuva Tourism Club members.

Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Southern Regional Office in collaboration with Lakshadweep Tourism and IHM Bengaluru organized a Hospitality Training Workshop from April 18 to April 20, 2023 to facilitate training for staff members of Bangaram Island Resort ahead of G20 meeting scheduled for May 2023 at Bangaram, Lakshadweep. The workshop conducted by trainers from IHM Bengaluru aimed to sensitize the hospitality staff on key aspects of Front office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage service and Food production with a view to ensure delivery of high quality services during the visit of G20 delegation. The workshop also offered valuable insights and knowledge about various aspects of G20 and cross-cultural handling. The workshop received enthusiastic response from staff of Bangaram Island Resort and trainees from YTC, Govt Arts & Science College, Kadmat island, Lakshadweep.

A familiarization watersports activity was organized by the Tourism Department, UT of Lakshadweep for the YTC members of Govt Arts & Science College, Kadmat island on 22.03.2023 at Bangaram Island, Lakshadweep. The students participated in activities like snorkelling and scuba diving at Bangaram island.
