Gujrat view allWith the blessings and constant encouragement of our respected Principal – Prof. (Dr.) Dhanesh Patel, and efforts by Dr. Ashish Guruji- Coordinator, Yuva Tourism Club, Polytechnic, a visit to EME Temple (Dakshinamurti Temple) was organized on the auspicious day of Teachers’ Day in order to enhance the knowledge of students and cultivate interest towards our heritage buildings and tourism. The details of the visit is as follows - Date: September 05th 2024 (Thursday) Time: 6:15 PM to 7:45 PM Objective of the visit: The visit was aimed to sensitize the students about our heritage and Unity in Diversity. Participants: Total fifteen student participants and four Teachers from Yuva Tourism Club, Polytechnic participated in this visit. Description: During this visit, Ashish Guruji, Rakhi Moghe and Bhavna Solanki shared the information about structural uniqueness of this temple, which is inclusive of five major religions of India- Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Budhdhism and Jainism. They explained spiritual significance of this temple and concept of Gotras in Hinduism. All participants visited the premises and attended Aarti. After this visit a short online quiz was conducted to reinforce their learning.
Gujrat view allSpecial Lecture Programme on “Skills to be Developed for Cruise Line Job Opportunities” organized by our Research Department of Hotel Management and Catering Science was held on 10th July 2024 (Wednesday) at 12.00 p.m. at Bio-Tech Gallery. Head of the department of HMCS Dr.M.P. Senthilkumar welcomed the gathering and our respected Principal Dr.D.I.George Amalarethinam presided over the function and delivered the presidential address. With the august presence of our honourable Secretary and Correspondent Hajee.Dr. A. K. Khaja Nazeemudeen, D. Litt. (USA), Most esteemed Treasurer Hajee. M. J. Jamal Mohamed and our respected Assistant Secretary Dr.K. Abdus Samad, the function was started with quirath and followed by Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The chief guest was honoured with a shawl by our Secretary and Correspondent. The felicitation was given by our beloved Additional Vice Principal Dr. A.J. Haja Mohideen. The chief guest of the event Chef. T.S. Subash Kumar, Sous Chef, MSC Cruise Line, USA delivered an elaborate lecture on the topic of “Skills to be Developed for Cruise Line Job Opportunities”. Over 200 students participated in the programme. During his lecture the chief guest discussed about the skills required for cruise line job aspirants, how to develop those skills, merits of cruise jobs, and wide range of available job opportunities in ship catering for hotel management graduates. Further he encouraged the students to develop their communication and knowledge of their preferable department in Hotel Management. After the lecture, he answered the various queries and doubts of the students during the interaction session. Later, the Office Bearers of the Department Association for academic year were introduced to the audience and Vice-President of the Association Mr.K.Karthikeyan presented the vote of thanks. Finally, the function was concluded with the National Anthem.

This notable event aimed to recognize the contributions of educators and provide valuable insights into effective goal-setting strategies tailored for the Gen Z cohort. The programme commenced with a warm welcome by our Assistant Professor, Dr. A. Alan Vijay. The gathering was honored by the presence of our honourable Secretary Correspondent Dr. A. K. Khaja Nazeemudeen, D. Litt. (USA), Most distinguished Treasurer Hajee M. J. Jamal Mohamed, Esteemed Assistant Secretary Dr. K. Abdus Samad, and our beloved Principal, Dr. D.I. George Amalarethinam. Following the welcoming remarks, a felicitation ceremony was held. Our respected Additional Vice-Principal, Dr. A.J. Haja Mohideen honoured the guest with a shawl and provided the felicitation, setting a positive tone for the event. The highlight of the ‘Teacher’s Day Celebrations’ was the special lecture delivered by our chief guest, Dr.V. Bastin Jerome, Associate Professor of Commerce, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli. Dr. Jerome's lecture focused on “Goal Setting for Gen Z Students.” During his presentation, Dr. Jerome covered the following key topics: • Understanding Gen Z Characteristics: Insights into the unique traits and behaviors of Gen Z students. • Effective Goal-Setting Strategies: Methods and techniques to help Gen Z students set and achieve realistic goals. • Motivation and Engagement: Approaches to enhance student motivation and maintain engagement. • Real-World Applications: Practical examples and case studies illustrating successful goal-setting in various contexts. The programme was well-attended, with over 200 students participating actively. The interactive session facilitated a rich exchange of ideas and allowed students to engage directly with the topics discussed. The Teachers' Day celebration and Special Lecture Programme were met with great success, providing valuable knowledge and inspiration to both students and educators. The collaborative efforts of the Research Department of Hotel Management and the Placement and Training Centre, along with the contributions of our esteemed guests, made the event both memorable and impactful.
Tamil Nadu view allA field visit for our department students was organized at Railway Museum, Tiruchirappalli on Tuesday 8th August 2023. 19 students from B.Voc. Tourism and Hospitality Management were participated in this visit and our faculty member Mr.S. Yoganand accompanied them. The visit was started in the morning at 10 a.m. Nearly two and half hour was spent by the team to go around the premises of museum and to visit all the articles displayed there. The Rail Museum is located nearer to Central Bus Station of Tiruchirappalli. This museum was inaugurated by Former General Manager of Southern Railways Mr.Rakesh Misra on 18th Feb 2014. The Rail Museum Trichy has been constructed on an area of over 9000 square feet with excellent interior works, landscape and a toy train track. The cost of establishing the Rail Museum was about 1.35 crore. The museum is meant to be part of the erstwhile South Railways 150th Sesquicentennial celebration. Due to fund constraints, the entire museum was opened for the public on 25.02.2015. The museum displays the rich heritage of the South Railways. This museum has both indoor and outdoor exhibits. The Indoor exhibits display of various documents from British rule. It has rare photograph collections, maps, gazettes, railway manuals and books used during British rule. Outdoor exhibits include a few vintage steam locomotives and a fully functional toy train is also operated in the premises. The students really enjoyed the visit and they expressed that they gathered knowledge about the history, growth and development of Indian Railways and its contributions to the evolution travel and tourism industry.

Additionally, the event also focused on sustainability, featuring the Awakening Jingle, promoting responsible travel, and encouraging participation in the "Pro Planet People" initiative. Shri Amit Singh, facilitated the "Travel for Life" pledge.
