Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Almora (Uttarakhand), organized a plantation drive by the students of the school. The drive was organized to create awareness about the importance of trees and to encourage the students to take care of the environment. The plantation drive was a success. The students were enthusiastic about planting trees and they took great care in planting them. The trees will help to improve the environment and will also provide a green and healthy environment for the students. The plantation drive was a part of the school's environmental awareness program. The school has been organizing such programs regularly to create awareness about the importance of the environment among the students.

The Ministry of Tourism organised a plantation program at these Water Heritage sites on 31st July 2023 through its branch office. Students performed a street play to highlight the importance of plantation and to protect and save the environment. This initiative was taken by the school with the aim to motivate students to become active agents of a sustainable and healthy environment. The students got actively involved in it and showed great enthusiasm and creativity to convey their message to the audience.

Learnt history of Shimla - Walk at Shimla Mall Road. Saw buildings. - Visit to different shops. Witnessed the costumes and Culture. - Bought things to boost economy of the state. - Visit to Chandigarh. Learnt about the Capital - Visit to Rock Garden, Chandigarh.. Other important Aspects learnt by student important for their personal growth - Group leaders were able to showcase the leadership quality and work as a team. - Tour helped to Improve Listening skills in all, as instructions were given. - Learnt to respect teachers, guide, hotel staff…. - Many bought things to boost economy of the state. - Learnt about flora and fauna - Learnt discipline as they got up and slept at dedicated time. - They learnt sharing as they shared food, room... - They showcased caring nature as they helped each other when one was injured. - They were told to take care of cleanliness wherever all visited. - Learnt about their companions, their families. Emotional bonding. - Activities/Movement kept them away from mobiles. - Away from junk food as shops were far from Resort.
