The participation of SIHM students from groups 52 and 04, along with the dedicated faculty, has truly made a significant impact at this international event. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication were evident, contributing to the overall success and vibrancy of the festival. We were delighted to witness the diverse cultural exchange facilitated by participants from 56 countries, and the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, the Tourism Minister, Shri Mulu Bhai Bera, and ambassadors from Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sweden, and Ecuador. The event served as a remarkable platform for showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Gujarat on the global stage

Gujrat view allIndia Tourism Gandhinagar, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and IIHM Ahmedabad Yuva tourism club celebrated Heritage week with Heritage Walk in the Heritage City of India Ahmedabad, The walk covered visiting various heritage places and monuments of the city. 46 YTC students learned about the importance of rich heritage and enjoyed the heritage walk of Ahmedabad, starting from the 19th century Swaminarayan Temple Kalupur, numerous Pols, Chowks, and the 15th century Jama Masjid in Ahmedabad.
Gujrat view allIndiatourism Chennai, Southern Regional Office in collaboration with Yuva Tourism Club of K.S. Raja Arts and Science College for Women, Chellapperatti, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District organized the Grand Pongal Festival 2024 and National Youth Day celebrations on 12th January 2024 in the college premises. Around 400 students and faculties were present in this event. As part of the Pongal Festival and National Youth Day celebrations, Competitions like Elocution, Essay Writing, Poetry, Drawing on the topics Role of Agriculture, Speciality of different states Harvesting Festival, My Favourite Tourist Place, Tamilar Thirunal, Sustainable Agriculture, Tourism, Pongal that rules the world and Tamil Art and Culture were conducted. Also, miniature ideals of India Gate, Mamallapuram Beach Temple, Thanjavur Big Temple, Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple, Gingee Fort, Kanyakumari Thiruvalluvar Statue, Aurovile etc. were displayed. In addition to that an ancient coins collections were displayed. Traditional Folk dances (Mayilattam, Oyilattam, Garagattam, Kummi Adithal and Silambattam) and Traditional Games (Uri Adithal and Kayiru Izhutthal) were performed during the Pongal Celebration. The main objective of the event is to make the students to know about the Traditional & Cultural values Pongal Festival and Cultural Tourism.
Tamil Nadu view allWith an effort to promote rural tourism, a one of its kind Pongal celebration was organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Southern Regional Office under the aegis of 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign at Keezakulikudi village in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. 'Maduraiyil Pongal Vizha' provided a perfect backdrop for coming together of culture and community embellished by captivating performances by artists representing Dr Jayalalitha Music University, Madurai, local schools and colleges. This pioneering event also showcased the tapestry of traditions and highlighted celebrations associated with this harvest festival through an enchanting ensemble of folk music, dance, arts & crafts and the renowned culinary delicacy, 'Pongal'. The Ayyanar Temple and its surroundings were bejeweled by the vibrant stages set up for cultural performances and zones earmarked for rural games filling the visitors with joy and thrill. Other highlights included bullock cart rides, Rangoli competitions and attractive selfie points. The event witnessed active participation from international and domestic tourists, around 160 students from Yuva Tourism Club and villagers. The students of Yuva Tourism Clubs of local colleges and schools were taken to Samanar Hills, an ASI protected monument on a guided Heritage walk. The event was supported by the Travel club of Madurai, Tamilnadu Tourism Department, Dhan Foundation and villagers of Keezakulikudi village.
