On the occasion of International Museum Day (18th May’23) , Tripura office under the guidance of Regional Director (northeast region) , Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in association with State Tourism Department (Tripura) celebrated the day by organizing a Guided Museum Walk for the orphan students.
Tripura view allThe Army Public School organized an educational trip to the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, for its students. The trip was aimed at providing students with an overview of the history and mission of the Forest Research Institute, introducing them to the different types of forests and the plants and animals that live in them, teach them about the importance of forest conservation, and give them hands-on experience with forest management and conservation.
Uttarakhand view allAn educational trip was planned for all the sections of class VIII and IX to enhance their knowledge of the historical sites of Dehradun. The trip was organized by the school and took place on 25th May 2023. The students visited the following places: Subir Raha Oil Museum Tel Bhawan, ONGC: This museum is located in the heart of Dehradun and is dedicated to the history of oil exploration and production in India. The museum has a collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents that tell the story of how oil was discovered and developed in India.

The event aimed to increase awareness and knowledge about different tourist spots, fostering a sense of curiosity and exploration among the participants. The competition encouraged students to learn and appreciate the diversity of popular travel destinations.
Haryana view allA highly anticipated quiz competition titled "Know your Museums" was held at Livingstone Foundation International on May 18, 2023. The event, organized by the enthusiastic student members of the LFI Yuva Tourism Club, under the mentorship of Mr. Daewon Nongrem, aimed at promoting awareness and appreciation of the rich cultural heritage showcased in northeastern museums. The competition revolved around renowned museums in the region, delving into their historical significance, artefacts and unique features. The questions were meticulously crafted to challenge the participants' knowledge and encourage them to explore the remarkable exhibits found in these institutions. The atmosphere was electric as students displayed their deep-rooted passion for learning and understanding the historical context of their region. They enthusiastically raised their hands, eagerly waiting for their chance to answer the intriguing questions posed by the quiz master. The competition not only tested their factual knowledge but also fostered critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Participants showcased their comprehensive understanding of museums such as the Assam State Museum, Sikkim Himalayan Zoological Park, and the Manipur State Museum. The enthusiastic response from the students showcased their commitment to preserving and promoting their cultural heritage. The event was a resounding success, thanks to the diligent efforts of the Yuva Tourism Club and the guidance provided by Mr. Daewon Nongrem. The quiz competition not only enhanced the students' knowledge of the northeastern region's museums but also ignited a sense of pride and curiosity among the participants. It served as a platform for students to celebrate the diverse cultural heritage of their region while encouraging them to become lifelong learners and custodians of their rich history.
Nagaland view allThe school Yuva Tourism club celebrated the International Museum Day by visiting the school museum which is maintained by the school. 11 student members from Grade-9 & 10 along with the teacher in charges of Yuva tourism club solely participated in the activity conducted. As per the requirement of the activity the student gets the opportunity to learn more about the cultures and traditions of the forefathers and therefore could able to contribute a wholesome amount of ideas or knowledge towards the preservation of our culture and tradition. The activity went well and the members participated with great enthusiasm.

Nagaland view allAn educational trip was planned for all the sections of class VIII&IX to enhance as well as to make them familiar with the historical sites of Dehradun. In this regard, all the sections of the said class visited the following places of repute and historical background- SUBIR RAHA OIL MUSEUM TEL BHAWAN, ONGC - The students were greeted by Mr. K V Vinod (DGM, ONGC Museum). He gave a brief description of the museum and the motive of ONGC. They elaborated on each minute detail of the museum. The students were made aware of the process of oil findings, drilling, and extraction of the crude oil as well as the history of this museum and the contribution of our late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru as well as ShSubirRaha (Former MD of Indian Oil Corporation). The students also had a brainstorming session about the sustainability of the fuel and preserving the same for future generations also. FOREST RESEARCH INSTITUTE DEHRADUN -The students of class IX were taken to the historical site of this magnificent building called FRI. It was founded in 1878 by Dr. Brandis to provide the forest department students a school so that they can learn and study forestry, he further appealed to the Indian Government to set up an entire institute, therefore in 1878 The Gov of India decided to set up a forest college in Dehradun.FRI was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest purely brick structure in the world. The great Indian Revolutionary leader Rash Behari Bose worked at FRI for eight years. The trip was beneficial for the students to understand the architecture as well as the historical aspect of it.

Chandigarh view allMinistry of Tourism, Government of India, North Eastern Regional office Guwahati celebrated International Year of Millets 2023 in association with the active participation of Yuva Tourism Club of B.H College, Howly, Barnagar, JRP H.S & M.P School and Howly H. S School at Smiling Tasker -Elephant Camp, Manas, BTR, Assam on 29th April, 2023. More than 100 people including students, travel trade stakeholders, media participated in the event.
Assam view allMinistry of Tourism Government of India North Eastern Regional Office Guwahati celebrated International Year of Millets of 2023 on 23 March, 2023 in association with Food Craft Institute, Samaguri, Nagaon, Assam with the Students of Yuva Tourism Club of FCI. Quiz competition on Millets was organized and distributed prizes among the winners. Students of Yuva Tourism Club prepared various Millets item for lunch and also displayed for promotion of Millets.
