🌍 World Tourism Day Celebration 2025 ✨ Theme: “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation” The Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, Alagappa University, Karaikudi, proudly celebrated World Tourism Day 2025 with great enthusiasm and active participation from faculty, students, and distinguished guests. The event was graced by our Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Col. Sr. Prof. G. Ravi, who delivered the Presidential and Inaugural Address, emphasizing the vital role of sustainability in shaping the future of tourism. We were privileged to welcome our Chief Guest, Mr. S. Saravanan, Founder & Director of Grand Royal Tours (Tamil Nadu & Karnataka), who shared inspiring industry insights, motivating students toward innovation and professionalism in the tourism field. ✨ Event Highlights: 🎶 Prayer Song & Lamp Lighting Ceremony 🏆 Prize Distribution for Tourism Day Competitions — Drawing, Photography, Essay, and Elocution 🍽️ SICCA (South India Chefs’ Association) Competition Awards — celebrating culinary creativity and excellence Bronze Winners: 🥉 Ms. Archana – Asian Cooking & Innovative Biryani Competition 🥉 Mr. Ramakrishnan – Dessert Competition 🥉 Mr. Prem Sathanaraj – Innovative Biryani Competition Merit Winners: 🎖️ Mr. R. Gopika – Dessert 💃 The cultural segment added vibrant energy to the celebration, featuring traditional Oyilattam dance performances and dynamic Indian and International Street Dance (Hip Hop) presentations by students — showcasing the diversity and creativity of tourism and culture. 📸 A special photo session with our Vice-Chancellor made the moment truly memorable for all SICCA winners. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks, a cultural dance performance, and an interactive feedback session with the Chief Guest — reflecting the spirit of learning, collaboration, and cultural appreciation. 👏 Heartfelt gratitude to our faculty, coordinators, and students for their teamwork and dedication in making this celebration a remarkable success!
