With the blessings and constant encouragement of our respected Principal – Prof. (Dr.) Dhanesh Patel, and efforts by Dr. Ashish Guruji- Coordinator, Yuva Tourism Club, Polytechnic, a visit to Premanad Hall, Faculty of Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda was organized on the occasion of World Tourism Day (27/09/24) in order to enhance the knowledge of students and cultivate interest towards our heritage buildings and tourism. In this connection, a Cycle rally from Polytechnic to Arts faculty with our Polytechnic students along with their mentors was arranged. After the visit, a Human chain was made and oath was taken to curb Plastic Pollution. During this visit students gained valuable insights in Architecture and Ancient methods of construction. The details of the visit is as follows - Date: September 27th 2024 (Friday) Time: 04:00 PM Participants: Total twenty student participants and four Teachers from Yuva Tourism Club, Polytechnic participated in this visit. Description: During this visit, Ashish Guruji, Rakhi Moghe, Bhavna Solanki, Shivangi Samajpati shared the information about structural uniqueness of Premanad Hall and the Dome structure which is second largest dome in Asia. The room on the first floor was used as a study room by Shri Aurobindo. This dome was designed by British Architect Robert Chrisholm and gifted to Baroda by its visionary ruler His Highness Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. All participants visited the premises. After this visit, a Human chain was made and oath was taken to curb Plastic Pollution. During this visit students gained valuable insights in Architecture and Ancient methods of construction.
