Objectives of Activities Conducted During World Tourism Day: • To encourage students to participate in community activities. • To highlight the features of tourism spots in Tamil Nadu. • To raise awareness among the public about sustainability issues and promote sustainable tourism practices. • To assist tourists by providing information about tourism spots and guiding them on how to enjoy their visits without harming nature. Our Department of Hotel Management and Catering Science celebrated World Tourism Day on September 27, 2024. As a part of the celebrations, our students engaged in a community activity at Mukkombu, one of the important tourist spots in Tiruchirappalli, by conducting an awareness campaign to educate tourists on the importance of enjoying tourism without disturbing the ecosystem. They distributed pamphlets that outlined a list of Do's and Don'ts for visitors at tourist sites. Tourists appreciated the students' efforts and expressed their commitment to follow the suggested guidelines to engage in tourism responsibly. Outcomes of the Awareness Campaign: 1.
