Patil Sindhudurg College, Malvan Yuva Tourism Club Event Report Tourism Week 2023 Inauguration Ceremony Date: September 27, 2023 The Yuva Tourism Club organised Tourism Week in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell of S. K. Patil Sindhudurg Mahavidyalaya, Malvan, spanning from September 27th to October 3rd. The inaugural event for this week was held in the Narhari Prabhuzantye Hall of the college on 27 th September, 2023. The program commenced punctually at 9:30 am with the arrival of esteemed guests. Dr. Shivram Thakur, the college principal, set the tone for the event by elucidating the purpose and significance of Tourism Week, shedding light on both its positive and negative aspects. The introduction of the distinguished guests was expertly carried out by Professor Dr. Sumedha Naik. The chief guest for today's program was the Honorable Dr. Bhujangrao Bobde, Director, Knowledge Resource Center, Nagpur. Adv. Sameer Gavankar, Deputy Collector, and Principal Dr. Shivram Thakur extended their warm greetings to Hon. Prashant Panvelkar, the Tehsildar Varsha Zalte, and other dignitaries, who were also welcomed with floral arrangements. The event was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guests and dignitaries, followed by speeches by Professor Kailas Rabte and Baba Mondkar, the President of Paryatan Vyavsayik Mahasangh, Sindhudurg. Tehsildar Varsha Zalte shared her well-wishes for the event. The keynote speaker, Honorable Dr. Bhujangrao Bobde, captivated the audience with his insightful guidance. He elaborated on the concept of heritage tourism and emphasized the importance of water conservation. Dr. Bobde highlighted the distinctive features of various tourist destinations, including the Golden Temple, Jaipur, Jantar Mantar, Palakkad Fort in Kerala, and the Temple of Sun Gods, Hampi Temple. He also outlined the opportunities within the tourism industry and concluded his speech by underscoring the connection between a beautiful mind and creating beauty in the minds of tourists, asserting that understanding, valuing, and caring for a destination leads to a more enjoyable experience. Deputy Collector Hon. Prashant Panvelkar expressed his fervent desire to raise awareness about tourism and extended his best wishes for the initiative. Ankita Walawalkar, a prominent local actress, emphasized the significance of education in the field of tourism. The presidential address was delivered by Balasaheb Pantwalawalkar. The program was anchored by Dr. U. Y. Samant. Dr. Lieut. M. R. Khot extended the vote of thanks. The event was attended by prominent figures such as Balasaheb Pantwalavalkar, Naib Tehsildar Gangaram Kokre, Adv. Sameer Gavankar, Sudhir Dhuri, President of the Alumni Association, along with Mr. Sandesh Koyande, Journalist Sangram Kasle, Prashant Hindlekar, Baba Mondkar, Bhau Samant, Dada Vengurlekar, Laxmikant Khobarekar, famous writer Vaishali Pandit, Jyoti Toraskar, Amey Desai, Swati Parkar, non-teaching staff, and students, among others. The Tourism Week was organized in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Yuva Tourism Club, and the Departments of Economics and Physics, with the support of Sindhudurg Paryatan Vyvsayik Mahasangh and Br. Nath Pai Sevangan, Malvan. The program concluded at 11:45 am, marking the commencement of an insightful and engaging week ahead.
