In observance of the National Tourism Day, The Ministry Of Tourism, (Northern Region) field office Chandigarh organised a Swachhatta Drive in collaboration with the Yuva Tourism Club students of Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management Chandigarh near the New Lake Chandigarh, An awareness session was given to the YTC students by Mr. Raj K Varman, Assistant Manager, Chandigarh, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The students were made aware about the theme of National Tourism Day 2024, "Sustainable Journeys, Timeless Memories" The students enthusiastically participated in the activity orangised. Also took the Travel for LiFE pledge.

The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Bagalkote District, local MP, MLA, local panchayat officials, district administration officials, Yuva Tourism Club members, tourism stakeholders, officials of Karnataka Tourism, India Tourism, and local Guides. The participants took the Travel for Life pledge to ensure the cleanliness and preservation of tourist sites. Additionally, a cleanliness drive was organized at Pattadakal Group of Monuments with the aim of raising awareness about cleanliness and promoting the vision of a garbage-free city. A total of 220 participants actively contributed to the event.
