The event took place in the PG Seminar Hall from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Mrs. Suganthi, HR Director, and Mr. Anoop Mohan, Learning & Quality Manager at Holiday Inn Cochin, were the distinguished speakers. They shared insights on the latest trends in the hospitality industry and the importance of tourism in global economic development. Telangana view allIn order to celebrate the World Tourism Day, the Yuva Tourism Club of Hajee Karutha Rowther Howdia College, Uthamapalayam, Tamil Nadu organized a One-Day Seminar on the theme ‘Sustainable Practices: Transforming Communities through Micro Tourism’ on 27th September, 2024. Mr. E. Baskaran, District Tourism Officer, Department of Tourism, Govt. of Tamil Nadu and Ms. K.C. Raihanath, Assistant Professor of History, Hajee Karutha Rowther Howdia College acted as Resource Persons. Mr. Baskaran delivered his presentation on ‘Tourism in Theni District’ and addressed the opportunities and challenges of Tourism in Theni District. He highlighted the major tourist spots in Theni district and the new proposals of Tamil Nadu Government in promoting Tourism sector in the state in general and Theni district in particular. He asserted that it will create more employment opportunities and urged the students to seize these opportunities. Ms. K.C. Raihanath made her presentation on the topic of ‘Fostering Peace through Sustainable Tourism Practices’. She elaborated the theme of this year World Tourism Day, ‘Tourism and Peace’ and emphasized the role of tourism in bringing international peace. Earlier, the programme was inaugurated by college Principal Dr. H. Mohamed Meeran and key note address was delivered by Dr. N. Mohamed Sameem, IQAC Coordinator of the college. A group of sixty students of the college were benefited out of this programme.

The celebration also highlighted Uttarakhand's rich cultural heritage through vibrant performances and local cuisines. Prizes were awarded for outstanding contributions in cultural and culinary competitions, creating a memorable and impactful event focused on sustainability, local culture, and career development.

It is the part of larger Swacch Bharat Abhiyan,a nationwide initiative to promote cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene across the country. Swachhata hi seva is the annual event that typically takes place from 15 th September to 2 nd October.Under this programme, all the students from Samarth Group of Institutions College of Engineering Yuva Parytan Club participated and Even teachers were the essential part of this drive. As a part of this Cleanliness Drive, we had to clean the premises of Rajuri (Unchakhadak). Students from Yuva Parytan Club were participated in the event.
